About Leander Elite Concrete

Leander Elite Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Leander, TX, with more than 20 years spent placing, repairing and replacing concrete across this part of Central Texas. We build driveways, slabs and pads, patios, pool decks, sidewalks, retaining walls, decorative finishes and commercial flatwork, and we handle the permitting that goes with the work rather than leaving it on the customer’s desk.

Most of what we do is decided before anyone sees concrete. The ground here is not one thing: Leander is three different excavation problems inside one city, with shallow rock on the west and south sides, deep shrink swell clay elsewhere and a nearly inert calcareous loam in between, and the same driveway does not cost the same on each. That is why we look at what is under your particular lot instead of quoting the subdivision.

Our Approach

We do the procedural work as part of the job. A driveway here requires a plan reviewed permit rather than a counter transaction, so we prepare the Type I residential submittal showing the street accessed, the driveway location and width, the curb radius, the culvert type and size, utilities, easements and trees over eight caliper inches. Section 3.13.042 inverts the usual deemed approval rule in Leander, because if no notice comes back within ten working days the applicant may assume the permit has been denied, so we track that clock instead of reading silence as a yes. Every permit under Chapter 3 also carries a bond or a cash deposit scaled to the estimated cost of construction, and it reaches ordinary residential work, so we tell you which band your job lands in before you sign anything.

We carry the public liability and property damage insurance the city requires before a bonded project starts, and we keep an updated registration on file with Leander Building Permits and Inspection.

The construction side is the same discipline. Blasting is prohibited outright in Leander and temporary rock crushing is not allowed either, so every foot of rock on your lot comes out mechanically and we price it that way rather than discovering it halfway through.

We place the two inch compacted cushion, wet it through and keep it moist at the time of the pour, because the specification requires it everywhere the subgrade is not already gravel or mostly rock. Steel goes on chairs, equidistant from top and bottom, never laid on the subgrade or the cushion, and it is inspected before the pour rather than after.

Every approach carries a uniform two percent slope inside the right of way, since water standing at the street is the one defect the city makes the contractor rebuild at its own expense, and we barricade a new approach for the four days after placing that the specification calls for, opening it when the engineer approves rather than when the surface looks hard.
